Carers can't afford to be ill

Carers Week aims to celebrate and raise awareness of the role and value of carers, and to identify hidden carers. It does this through a PR campaign, a Carers Question Time event and by supporting local partners to organise events and activities.

Anne Begg MP was the Carers Week 2008 parliamentary champion and the theme was ‘carers can’t afford to be ill’.

Help the Hospice was a Carers Week 2008 supporter, which involved:

  • Feeding into Carers Week media and policy campaigns
  • Raising awareness of carers of the terminally ill and how hospices support carers
  • Supporting hospices to organise and promote Carers Week events and activities.
